The wasp season runs from spring to autumn. From late spring to about the end of July, wasps tend to be busy building their nests and raising young wasps. During this period, wasps are less effectively lured. However, by late summer and autumn, this changes, and wasps become strongly attracted to the scent of fruit. Suddenly, wasps can become a swarming problem. Hanging wasp traps are a safe and easy way to control wasps during their high activity season.

How to Make an Effective Wasp Lure Recipe:

For an effective lure, fill the wasp trap with two cups of water. Add one cup of fruit juice, 4 tablespoons of sugar, and one cup of vinegar to the water, then hang or stand the wasp trap. The scent attracts them, and they crawl inside the wasp trap, which is designed to prevent them from escaping.

You can also add to the mixture:

4 tablespoons of sugar.

1 cup of vinegar.

1 cup of fruit juice.

 

The wasp trap is also an effective defense against yellow jackets, bees, and hornets.
