Abdul Wahab's Heart Plant or Pothos is one of the most beautiful 

and popular indoor plants. It is fast-growing, easy to propagate, and easy to care for, remaining evergreen even 

in low light conditions. Its leaves are shiny, smooth, and heart-shaped. 

The beautiful thing about this plant is that it can be cultivated to grow in more than one form, for example, hanging, or a stick can be 

placed in the pot, allowing it to grow vertically, or it can be planted in a cascading manner 

by placing it in a high spot and letting its leaves trail downwards. There are several types differing in leaf color, 

some are entirely green, while others are green with a golden color or green with a white 

color.

Pothos is an evergreen climbing plant, growing up to 20 meters long, with stems up to 

4 cm in diameter. It climbs using aerial roots that cling to surfaces. Its heart-shaped leaves are alternate, 

covering young plants completely, but they are irregularly distributed on mature plants. A leaf can reach 100 cm in length and 45 

cm in width, while nascent leaves are much smaller, often under 20 cm long. 

Flowers grow in a spathe up to 23 cm long. This plant produces successive stems when 

climbing trees, and these stems develop roots when they reach the ground and grow on it. 

The leaves on these successive stems grow up to 10 cm long, which is what can be seen 

naturally in this plant when grown in pots.

Pothos is an ornamental plant and a tropical plant native to the tropical forests 

of Asia. It is also a climbing plant that can climb to a height of more than one and a half meters. It is an evergreen plant and thrives in summer. 

There are many varieties, some with large leaves, some with medium leaves, and some 

with small leaves. The plant is considered one of the most famous household ornamental plants as it can 

grow in dark and semi-dark places, thus it grows very well indoors. 

It is not necessary to plant it in soil; it can also be planted in water, as 

it is considered a aquatic plant. The plant is characterized by being one of the plants that help 

maintain a clean and oxygen-rich home atmosphere as it purifies the air from 

formaldehyde and other organic compounds in the air. The plant is easy to 

grow and care for, making it the most suitable plant for those who are not skilled in growing and caring for ornamental plants 

or for beginners in home gardening.
