وصف المنتج
The Philodendron selloum is a type of philodendron, scientifically known as Philodendron selloum or Philodendron bipinnatifidum. It is characterized by its large, lobed leaves. It is a plant endemic to South America, growing up to 2 to 3 meters tall. It is capable of producing aerial roots from which it draws water and nutrients. Its flowers do not appear until it is 15 to 20 years old and under suitable conditions.
Caring for Philodendron Selloum
It thrives in well-drained, loose soil rich in organic matter. Allow the top 2-3 cm of soil to dry out between waterings. If the leaves wilt, it means the plant is either not getting enough water or is being overwatered. It prefers medium to bright light without direct sun. Its old leaves will naturally turn yellow, but if you notice an excessive number of yellow leaves, it indicates that it is exposed to very high light or direct sunlight. If the stems are too long, it is a sign of insufficient light. Fertilize with a balanced liquid fertilizer once a month in spring and summer, and every two months in winter and autumn. If its growth is slow or its leaves are small, it indicates a lack of fertilization.
Pale new growth indicates a deficiency in calcium and magnesium.
The ideal temperature for it is approximately 18 to 25 degrees Celsius.
Wear gloves when handling it.
Propagating Philodendron Selloum
It can be propagated by stem cuttings placed in soil or water, and roots will appear after several weeks.
