Pachira Aquatica - Distinctive Potted Money Tree

The Pachira aquatica plant loves bright, filtered light, meaning we should not expose it to direct sunlight. Instead, it can be placed near large windows to provide the strong light the Pachira needs to grow well and quickly. Regarding watering, the plant should only be watered after the top 3 to 5 cm of soil has dried out. It tolerates drought well, but if the soil remains dry for too long, the plant's stems will begin to wilt and its leaves will fall off. Winter is a dormant period for Pachira, so we reduce watering during this season. Pachira loves humid environments and will grow quickly if it has humidity levels between 45% and 55%. If the plant's location is dry, its pot can be placed on a tray of wet pebbles, and it can be misted with water occasionally. It should be fertilized monthly during the growing season with a regular ornamental plant fertilizer in spring and summer, and every two months in winter and autumn. The ideal temperature for it is between 16-24 degrees Celsius, and it can tolerate up to 30 degrees without being affected.

You can also easily control its size. If you want it small, there is no need to change its pot. If you want it tall, you should change the pot when it becomes root-bound, which is approximately every 3 years. You can trim the large leaves at the bottom of the plant to encourage growth from the top, doing this once a month. You can also prune the growing tips of each branch to keep the plant small.
