Diazinon is an insecticide used to control sucking and chewing insects and spider mites on a wide range of agricultural crops, including fruit trees, citrus, vines, olives, bananas, pineapples, vegetables, potatoes, beets, sugarcane, coffee, cocoa, tea, tobacco, corn, sorghum, alfalfa, flax, cotton, rice, ornamental shrubs, greenhouse crops, forests, etc. It is also used to control soil insects (soil application); sciarids (humpbacked flies) and fungus gnats in mushroom cultivation; flies, lice, spider mites, fleas, cockroaches, bed bugs, ants, and other insect pests found in pets and household insects. Seed treatment for corn, fruit fly control.
It is also used as an insect and bird repellent, and as an external antiparasitic.
